Welcome to the UCDS Math Curriculum Map editing process.

The purpose of this document is for teachers to regularly review as a reference tool for math skills and benchmarks.  Regular review provides guidance as teachers plan and design curriculum.

The Math Curriculum Map (MCM) is a teacher resource that mirrors and aligns with the UCDS Math Continuum to establish a connection between introducing concepts and practicing skills that lead to the goals outlined in each developmental stage.  The skills outlined in the document reflect NCTM and Washington State standards.  Each column of the UCDS Math Continuum has been expanded to include a list of skills and benchmarks.  The MCM is responsive to individual student's mathematical achievements and describes a progression of skills for the purpose of scaffolding and supporting mathematical development.

Instructions

How to read this document:

Each section contains three segments:

INTRODUCED refers to the concepts and skills that are introduced at this level to be practiced and mastered at a higher level; including vocabulary, concepts, and strategies.

PRACTICED includes a wide range of strategies, skills, and concepts that are practiced at this instructional level.  These correspond to the benchmarks of this particular lane.

DEMONSTRATED is the section marked in gray.  These are the benchmarks that students independently demonstrate 80% of the time and mirror the skills marked on the UCDS Math Continuum.
